Who are the Natsarim?
The term Natsarim comes from a Hebrew root meaning “to guard” or “to keep.” It identifies people who guard Yahweh’s instructions and follow His anointed King, Yeshua. Rather than a denomination, it describes a way of life rooted in the covenant.
Distinctives
- Keeping Yahweh’s commandments out of love and loyalty
- Confessing the unity of Yahweh while honouring His Messiah
- Living out faith through justice, mercy and humility (Micah 6:8)
- Learning directly from the Scriptures with open hearts and minds
Scriptural foundation
Early followers of Yeshua were called followers of the Way
and sometimes Nazarenes
(Acts 24:5). Isaiah foretold of a “branch” (netser) from Jesse’s stump (Isaiah 11:1). These words echo the idea of something alive, rooted, and fruitful. Natsarim see themselves in this story—grafted into Israel, bearing good fruit.
