About The Way 2015: Reconcile

Every child craves love. Every son desires a dad. Everyone wants acceptance.

But often, people fall short.  And most of us experience hurt, bullying, or rejection.

This fall, join our community as The Way presents a family-friendly story of bullying, hurt caused by an absent father, and hope: RECONCILE.

Our Themes: Bullying and Absent Fathers

  • 1 out of 4 students report being bullied during the school year (National Center for Education Statistics, 2015).
Students who experience this without intervention can often experience long term emotional, social, and even physical consequences (Center for Disease Control, 2012).

  • At least 32% of children grow up in a home with an absent biological father (U.S. Census Bureau, 2011).
This can leave long lasting effects on a child's heart, mind, and view of God.

We welcome groups and offer a 20% discount for 15 or more tickets purchased at one time. Tickets must be purchased by phone through a representative to receive the discount; we are not able to retroactively provide the group discount. Call (434) 515-0667 to speak with a representative.

Groups should arrive at least 30 minutes before their check in time to ensure all group members complete this process prior to tour departure.

This event involves about an hour and a half of walking and standing. If you cannot walk and stand for that length of time without sitting, we recommend that you bring a wheelchair or power scooter.

In order to provide a comfortable and timely experience for those requiring a wheelchair, we ask that those needing such accommodation select a wheelchair ticket when purchasing. The pricing is exactly the same, but these tours are specifically designed to accommodate wheelchairs while moving the performance through the scenes in a timely manner.

What is The Way?

The Way is a walk-through drama outreach of Heritage Baptist Church in Lynchburg, VA. Each year, thousands of people attend this unique performance to watch a realistic drama unfold through several sets in different rooms.

The entire performance lasts about an hour and a half. Older elementary age children, teens, and adults are invited to attend. Complimentary childcare is provided for infants and up to age 10.

Why "The Way?"

Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. A "way" is a path. The bold claim of Jesus was that He was the only path, the only way, to have a right relationship with God.

As you walk through this drama, you'll follow characters through their life paths. You'll learn about God's path, "the way," and how it can impact your life.
